ASME Wins 14 Telly Video Awards ASME Wins 14 Telly Video Awards ASME Wins 14 Telly Video Awards ASME welches honored with 14 awards in this years Telly Awards program, the annual competition that recognizes outstanding videos and commercials produced for television, cable, non-broadcast events, and the web. There were nearly 12,000 entries for the international 2014 Telly Awards competition. ASME was recognized in categories including Graphics, Education, Green/Eco-Friendly, Information, Not-for Profit, Editing, and Motivational among others. Waste to Energy Taking Out the Trash and Turning on the Lights won a Silver Award and three Bronze Awards. The project was executive produced by the Societys Marketing and Publications departments, and was produced by New Vision Communications. The video, which uses whiteboard animation to illustrate how waste-to-energy plants turn trash into clean power, was presented as part of the ASME Energy Forum, the Societys multi-media series that explo res the technical aspects and workings of a broad range of energy sources and related technologies. Watch the video on ASME.org. The ASME student member recruitment video Achieve More, won two Bronze Telly Awards, including one for use of graphics. The video was executive produced by the ASME Membership department, and was also produced by New Vision Communication. The lively video, which can be viewed here, combines animation and live footage to share the excitement of being an ASME student member. The Public Information department received eight Telly Awards. RD Engineers and Concentrating Solar Power, which was produced in-house, won a Bronze Telly. The video led off a panel discussion on sustainable and renewable energy at the 2013 Member Assembly. It explored engineering research and development in industry and at Sandia National Laboratories. The video also featured an interview with an expert at the Department of Energy. View the video here. A Bronze Telly went to Printing a High Performance Fuel Nozzle, which was also produced by Public Information staff. The video kicked off a panel discussion on advanced manufacturing at the 2013 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition. The video told the story of how engineers at GE Aviation designed and tested a jet engine fuel nozzle made with 3D printing technology. Watch the video now on ASME.orgThe opening title sequence for the 2013 Honors Assembly program at Congress won Public Informations third Telly, for use of graphics. The high-energy sequence promoted the contributions of engineers to society - past, present and future. The sequence was executive produced by Public Information, and was designed and produced by Ace Son Moving Picture Co., as a subcontractor to Firelight Films. Public Informations 2013 State of the Society video was recognized with five Bronze Telly Awards, including one in the category of Employee Communications and another for Public Relations. The video, whi ch can be viewed here, provides a summary of ASME activities and initiatives in Fiscal Year 2013, including the launch of a new version of ASME.org, the Societys expansion in global markets, and the worldwide impact of ASME codes and standards.
